Charles N. Starr

Charles was the first director of Wi Yush Kin starting in 1936. At that time he was a Navy Radio Operator and also directed the Cleveland Naval Reserve Band. He was also a magician and a licensed airplane pilot. He ran a Camp Fitch Band that summer comprised of 22 campers.[1] He graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and earned his Masters Degree at Northwestern University.[2]
